RENTZY CAR RENTALS — RENTAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS Version 2026-10 v3. Effective 23 October 2026. Operated by OVZZ Car Sales Pty Ltd ABN 72 694 976 595 ("Rentzy", "we", "us", "our"). Contact: info@rentzy.com.au · 0413 479 606.
1. The agreement
1.1 Your rental agreement is made up of: the booking or rental details (vehicle, rental use, dates, rate, deposit, bond, excess and kilometre allowance) shown when you book and in the agreement you sign; and these terms. If they conflict, the booking or rental details prevail.
1.2 You sign by typing your name and ticking the consent box, online or at our counter. We keep the exact text you signed, the time and a record of how you signed.
1.3 "You" means the hirer named on the booking. You are responsible for every authorised driver.
2. Drivers and eligibility
2.1 Only you, and any driver we approve in writing, may drive the vehicle.
2.2 Each driver must be 21 to 75 years old and hold a current, full (not learner or provisional) car licence held for at least 1 year; years held on an overseas licence count towards this. Overseas licences are accepted; a licence not in English must be carried with an International Driving Permit or an accredited English translation, which you must bring to pickup.
2.3 We check your licence and identity at pickup. We may refuse to hand over the vehicle if the licence is not valid, does not match the booking, or the information you gave was untrue; clause 5.2 (no-show) then applies.
2.4 Rideshare use is permitted only for rentals booked for rideshare, only in vehicles we have registered and insured for that use, and only while you hold a current rideshare driver authorisation. You must comply with the rideshare platform's and the Queensland regulator's rules.
3. Price and payment
3.1 Prices are in Australian dollars and include GST.
3.2 A A$100 deposit is paid when you book online and is credited towards your rent. The balance of the first rental period is paid at pickup by EFTPOS, card, cash or bank transfer, with no card surcharge.
3.3 Weekly rentals: rent is payable weekly in advance and falls due on the same weekday as the rental start. Payments are applied to the oldest unpaid rent first.
3.4 Rent not paid within 3 days of its due date is overdue. If rent is overdue we may contact you, decline to extend, and, after notice where the law requires it, end the rental and recover the vehicle. You remain liable for rent up to the date the vehicle is returned or recovered and for reasonable recovery costs.
3.5 Minimum rental period: each vehicle's minimum rental period (if it has one) is shown on that vehicle's page and in your booking. There is no minimum unless one is stated. An ongoing weekly rental continues until you give notice; rent is payable until the later of the end of any minimum period and the notice end date.
3.6 A dishonoured payment may be re-presented once; the bank's dishonour fee is payable by you.
4. Bond
4.1 A refundable bond of A$500 (or the amount stated in your booking) is taken at pickup. It secures your obligations under this agreement and is not a cap on your liability.
4.2 After the vehicle is returned and inspected, we return the bond, less any amounts you owe under this agreement, within 7 business days (Queensland business days). We return it by the same method it was paid unless we agree otherwise.
5. Cancellation, no-show and early return
5.1 Cancel 48 hours or more before pickup: everything you paid online is refunded.
5.2 Cancel less than 48 hours before pickup, or not collecting the vehicle (no-show): we keep A$100 and refund the rest of what you paid.
5.3 If you return the vehicle before the end of a fixed rental, or before the end of the minimum or notice period of a weekly rental, rent remains payable to that date; unused days are not refunded.
5.4 We may cancel a booking if the vehicle becomes unavailable for reasons outside our control; we will offer a comparable vehicle or refund everything you paid.
6. Pickup, condition and return
6.1 We record the vehicle's condition, odometer and fuel with photos at pickup and return. Check the record and tell us about any undisclosed damage before you drive away.
6.2 Return the vehicle at the agreed time and place during opening hours (Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00, Brisbane time) unless we agree otherwise, in the same condition as at pickup (fair wear and tear excepted), clean, and with the same fuel level as at pickup. Fuel below the pickup level is charged at the rate shown in our fees and charges (currently A$15 for each eighth of a tank).
6.3 Returns more than 30 minutes late are charged as extra rental time at your rental's rate. A vehicle not returned within 24 hours of the agreed time, without our agreement, is treated as overdue: we may recover it and report it to police as unlawfully retained, and you are liable for the cost of recovery.
7. Use of the vehicle
7.1 You must: drive lawfully and with care; keep the vehicle locked and the keys secure; use the correct fuel; check oil, water and tyre pressures on long trips; and stop and tell us if a warning light appears.
7.2 You must not: let an unauthorised person drive; drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs or above the legal limit; use the vehicle for an illegal purpose, racing, rallies, speed tests or driver training; carry passengers or goods for hire or reward (except approved rideshare use); tow, or carry more people or load than permitted; drive on unsealed roads unless reasonable for access, on beaches, through floodwater or off-road; take the vehicle outside Queensland without our written consent; smoke or vape in the vehicle; carry animals other than assistance animals without consent; sublet, sell or offer the vehicle as security; or modify, remove or disable any part, tracker or dashcam.
7.3 Kilometres are unlimited unless your booking states an allowance; any excess is charged at the stated rate per kilometre.
8. Maintenance and breakdown
8.1 We maintain the vehicle. You must make it available for scheduled servicing on reasonable notice; we will try to provide a replacement where practical.
8.2 For a breakdown, call us first. Do not arrange repairs without our consent, except minor costs we approve, which we reimburse on receipt.
9. Accidents, damage, theft and liability
9.1 Report any accident, damage, theft or vandalism to us immediately, and to police within 24 hours where required. Do not admit liability. Collect the other party's name, address, licence, registration and insurer details.
9.2 You are liable for loss of or damage to the vehicle, and for third-party loss, during the rental up to the renter's excess of A$2,500 per incident (or the amount stated in your booking).
9.3 The excess limit does not apply, and you are liable for the full loss and any amount our insurer refuses or recovers from us, where the loss arises from: a breach of clause 2 or 7.2; driving under the influence or without a valid licence; reckless, wilful or criminal conduct; overhead or underbody damage caused by driving into an obstacle or on an unsuitable surface; water damage from driving through water; using the wrong fuel; tyre, windscreen or key loss or damage caused by misuse; failing to report the incident or cooperate with us and our insurer; or keys left in or near an unattended vehicle.
9.4 You are liable for loss of rental income while the vehicle is unavailable because of damage you are liable for, up to 2 weeks' rent.
9.5 You must cooperate with us and our insurer and provide statements and documents reasonably requested.
10. Fines, tolls and charges
10.1 You are responsible for all traffic, parking and camera fines, tolls and other charges incurred during the rental. Where the law allows we will nominate you as the person in charge of the vehicle and give your details to the issuing authority.
10.2 Tolls we pay for you are recharged at cost plus a A$5 administration fee per toll. Fines we receive and process are recharged, or nominated to you, with a A$55 administration fee per fine.
10.3 After the vehicle is returned we inspect it within 48 hours. Proposed charges (fuel at A$15 per eighth of a tank below the pickup level, cleaning beyond normal use, tolls, late return, excess kilometres and damage up to the excess or as clause 9.3 allows) are itemised and sent to you with the evidence. You have 72 hours to dispute any charge before it is collected; disputed charges are reviewed by our team.
10.4 Approved charges are taken from the bond first; you must pay any balance within 7 days.
11. Ending the rental early by us
We may end the rental and recover the vehicle immediately if you breach clause 2 or 7.2, the vehicle is at risk, or rent is overdue as described in clause 3.4. You must return the vehicle on request.
12. Your information
We collect and handle your personal information under our privacy policy, including sharing it with insurers, toll and road authorities, and police where required by law.
13. Consumer rights and general
13.1 Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in this agreement excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot be excluded.
13.2 Subject to clause 13.1, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of property left in the vehicle.
13.3 If a part of this agreement is unenforceable it is severed and the rest continues.
13.4 This agreement is governed by the laws of Queensland, and the parties submit to the courts of Queensland.
