RENTZY CAR RENTALS — PRIVACY POLICY Version 2026-10 v3. OVZZ Car Sales Pty Ltd ABN 72 694 976 595 ("we", "us"), trading as Rentzy Car Rentals. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
1. What we collect
Your name, email, mobile, address and date of birth; driver licence details and, where needed, photos of your licence; rental, booking, payment, refund and bond records; vehicle condition records, inspection photos and odometer/fuel readings; agreements you sign and the time and device used; fines, tolls and incident information; and messages you send us. Card details are collected and stored by our payment provider, Stripe; we never see or store full card numbers. If you accept analytics cookies on our website, we also collect information about how you use the site (see section 7).
2. How we collect it
From you (online, by phone, at our counter), from our payment provider, from toll and road authorities, insurers and police in connection with your rental, and from the vehicles' records.
3. Why we use it
To take and manage bookings and rentals; verify identity and eligibility to drive; take payments, bonds and refunds; inspect vehicles and manage damage, fines and tolls; meet our legal, insurance and tax obligations; prevent fraud and recover vehicles; and contact you about your rental. We send marketing only with your consent, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
4. Who we share it with
Our payment provider (Stripe), email and hosting providers that process data on our behalf, insurers and assessors, road, toll and fine-issuing authorities (for example to nominate a driver), debt recovery agents, our professional advisers, and police or courts where required or authorised by law. Some providers may store data outside Australia (for example in the United States); we take reasonable steps to ensure they protect it. We do not sell your information.
5. Security and retention
Records are held securely with access limited to staff who need them; licence and inspection photos are private and each access is logged. We keep inspection photos for 365 days, licence photos for 90 days and verification records for 365 days after the rental ends, and signed agreements and financial records for 7 years as tax law requires. Information is then erased, unless it is needed for a dispute, claim or legal requirement.
6. Access, correction and complaints
You can ask for access to or correction of your information by contacting us. If you have a privacy complaint, contact us first; we will respond within 30 days. 7. Website analytics and cookies
Our website uses Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google, only if you choose "Accept analytics" in the cookie banner. If you decline or make no choice, the analytics code is not loaded and no analytics cookies are set. When you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an identifier) and records how you use the site: the pages you view (web addresses without search terms or the parts that identify a booking or payment), the searches you make (how far ahead you search, the length of the rental and any car type you choose), the steps you take towards a booking and, if you book, the booking reference, the rental total and the car or car type; together with information about your device and browser and an approximate location that Google works out from your IP address. We never send your name, email address, phone number, address, driver licence or payment details to Google Analytics. We use this information only to understand how our website is used and to improve it; we do not use it for advertising, and Google signals and ad personalisation are switched off. Google receives and processes this information for us and may store and process it outside Australia, including in the United States; Google Analytics keeps it for 14 months. You can change your choice at any time with "Analytics cookies" at the bottom of every page of our website, delete the cookies in your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout). Declining analytics does not affect your ability to use the website or to book.
